This white wedding dress with sleeves is influenced by 1940’s vintage style and features beautiful button detailing on the back and on the long sleeves. The dress has a white satin bodice, and the fabric has been cleverly draped and cut to create a rose at the neckline. The gorgeous long georgette sleeves have deep satin cuffs fastened with pearl buttons. The skirt is created from three layers of white tulle which has been caught up at the hemline in a deliberately random fashion to give an interesting shape.
This white wedding dress with sleeves was a challenging brief for Elizabeth as it was made within a very tight deadline. The bride originally had chosen another dress well ahead of time, but unfortunately it had become discoloured during storage, leaving her with no dress a month before her wedding. Luckily it was January, (traditionally a quiet time in the wedding industry calendar) and Elizabeth was able to work on the dress continuously for three weeks.
The bride wanted a modest, white wedding dress with a nod to vintage detailing, and we were happy to help her out in her time of need as it would have been almost impossible to find such a specific style of dress elsewhere.
Elizabeth Ayers can create completely individual, bespoke or alternatively styled and coloured bridal gowns that you won’t find ‘off the shelf’.
