Wedding Dresses Alterations
Buying a wedding dress is not like buying ‘off the shelf’ high street fashion.
Nearly all wedding dresses will need some alteration, as a size 12 dress may not fit a size 12 person in every way. Some brides are sold wedding dresses without being given any advice on which style best suits their figure, or guidance on what alterations may be required.
Elizabeth Ayers has a wealth of experience to give you the confidence you deserve to feel when wearing the dress of a lifetime. After all, it’s not all about the dress, it’s about you radiating your natural beauty on your special day. Our wedding dress alteration service means you will have a properly fitted dress that will help you feel confident, comfortable and happy from the inside out.
Customising your wedding dress
Buying a pre-owned or shop sample wedding dress is a great way to save money, but often comes with compromises on size and fit.
Elizabeth Ayers has the skills to overcome this by offering wedding dress alterations to make the dress to fit you, and she can even adjust the style of the dress to modernise it or customise it to your personal taste.
Elizabeth can customise a ready-made dress by altering the shape of the skirt, sleeves, or by adding decorative touches. Even a simple change such as swapping a zip for covered buttons can have a dramatic effect! We can remove an unwanted train and making it into a jacket or bolero; a great option for mature brides or those who prefer to cover their arms.
Common alterations
- Adjusting hem length (shorten or lengthen)
- Improving the bodice for a more flattering, comfortable fit
- Altering material around the waist and hips
- Adjusting the fit around the bust
“Liz did my alterations…. and I’m so pleased with it. Everything was perfect.”
