Couture Dress Case Study 1

This fabulous dress was for a wedding at the Italian Lakes at a beautiful lakeside property.

The brief was to design and make a grand spectacular wedding dress to suit the stunning scenery. There was plenty of space so having a big dress with a long train and an even longer veil was not a problem.

Elizabeth Ayers couture wedding dresses are created from a design conceived by the bride and developed to the highest standard of quality.

At the initial consultation a design is drawn up and material options discussed. Once this is done a quote will be calculated based on the complexity of the design, work involved and the materials used. If necessary, different design and material options can be quoted to cater for all budgets.

After measurements are taken Elizabeth will mock up a toile (a simple calico version of the bodice) in order to get the correct fit before using the final fabrics. At this stage the design can be discussed in more detail and modifications made to the design and the fit. At the next fitting the dress will start to come together and the overall silhouette of the dress can take shape. Once again fitting is made and design details can be discussed.

Set in the beautiful Tuscan countryside this wedding dress needed to compliment the surroundings as well as the bride.

This second marriage wedding was a relaxed family affair and the bride wanted to feel comfortable in a soft lightweight dress that wants too closed in because of the heat yet not too exposing either.

Elizabeth takes great care not to rush ahead too much at each stage so that alterations can be made along the way as needed.

Once finished the dress is completely unique to the bride, and the joint creative process by Elizabeth and her client results in something truly precious.

Elizabeth Ayers also offers a range of fantastically stylish and flattering couture wedding dresses, wedding outfits and trouser suits for mature brides, that will ensure they feel comfortable and confident on their wedding day.

Couture Dress Case Study 3

This amazing dress was the original concept of the bride. She came with an idea in her head that she wanted a lace fitted dress with feathers all over the skirt.

Together we discussed her thoughts and put them to paper. Between us we came up with this beautiful design. There was some research needed to source the lace that the bride wanted. She didn’t want it floral but more of a flowing design. We managed to find some lace motifs that I was able to use on the dress and cut up in order to cover the whole of the fitted part of the dress.

There are many brides who are older yet still want to feel like the bride and wear a special dress that will make her feel wonderful. Not all this age group want the typical high street wedding dress. They want to feel that the dress expresses their personality and that they feel emotionally comfortable and confident. The beauty is you and if your dress makes you feel comfortable and confident you will shine and look amazing on your special day. In fact this should be the case with all our clothes.

This bride wanted the festival theme to run through to the whole of the wedding. It was a very relaxed and boho style based on the Glastonbury festivals. The dress needed to reflect this and she wanted it to be soft and floaty yet with a fitted long style bodice to compliment her figure.

The dress was made with a structured bodice reaching over the top of the hips. It was covered in a delicate all over pattern lace with the centre röntgen panel being sheer lace and creating a deep v front decollate panel but allowing modesty with nude tulle under the lace. The draped beaded lace draped over the shoulders to give a relaxed feel and showing off the brides tattoo on her shoulder.
