This fabulous dress was for a wedding at the Italian Lakes at a beautiful lakeside property. The brief was to design and make a grand spectacular wedding dress to suit the stunning scenery. There was plenty of space so having a big dress with a long train and an even longer veil was not a problem.
The bride wanted a clean simple silhouette using a heavy stiff material that would hold its shape well. We decided to use a pure silk Italian zibeline. This fabric is great for sculptural shapes and would show the pleats in the skirt beautifully. The bodice was a blend of a halter neck and shoulder strap detail. The whole bodice was embellished with crystal, pearl and diamanté beading and finished with a diamanté trim around the edgings and waist line.
The back of the dress had a low v neckline and was fastened at the waist using Swarovski crystal buttons. The train was cathedral length and was beautifully spaced with inverted pleats at the centre to frame the train.
The whole dress was finished off wearing an exceptionally long veil made from the softest and finest veiling.
